Dr. Pawar is currently pursuing his dental residency program in Oral Medicine at the UCSF School of Dentistry, California. He has completed Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS, 2011), and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS, 2015) in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from MGV’S KBH Dental College & Hospital, Nashik.
He has practiced clinical dentistry in rural areas of India for more than six years and served as an associate lecturer at his alma mater for over three years. He has gained significant experience in the field of oral cancer and oral potentially malignant disorders, with research expertise in immunohistochemistry and oral cell lines. He has conducted several original research projects and authored multiple publications in prestigious journals.
To further expand his knowledge in dental and public health, he pursued a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, from University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg. He has also worked full-time as a healthcare data analyst and epidemiologist at the Florida Department of Health and the Mississippi State Department of Health.
In 2025, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He has also presented numerous papers, posters, and powerpoint presentations at national-level conferences. He continues to work in oral research and is interested in applying modern technologies to foster oral health. His area of interest includes oral oncology, oral potentially malignant disorders (leukoplakia, oral submucous fibrosis), oral lichen planus, oral diseases, temporomandibular joint disorders, oral epidemiology.
Research Interests
Oral oncology, artificial intelligence in oral health, care coordination strategies, epidemiology, biostatistics, addressing dental workforce shortages.
